The conditions set forth are based on our experience and a continuing commitment to see that our rescued animals are well matched to a family/owner. If I am successful in the adoption of a Kitten/ Cat through Yakima Valley Pet Rescue, I herein promise and agree to the following conditions: To keep this Kitten/Cat in my personal possession, provide proper and sufficient food, water, shelter, grooming, and humane treatment at all times. Not to sell, trade, transfer ownership, abandoned, or dispose of this Kitten/Cat in any way, but to notify Yakima Valley Rescue if I must relinquish custody of the Kitten/Cat. This includes but is not limited to family members. This Kitten/Cat will be maintained as a predominately indoor house pet and family companion. It will not be maintained outside at all times,as a yard cat or in a basement, garage, or outbuilding. I will not use the Kitten/ Cat for medical or any other experimental purposes. To ensure that when outside and unattended, the Kitten/ Cat is in a secure area. To procure any veterinary care at once if it becomes sick or injured and to keep current on all vaccinations against feline diseases. Follow through with continued flea/tick treatment. To provide him or her with a current ID tag secured to a collar which will be worn at all times. To obey all Animal Control regulations governing the area in which I live. Yakima Valley Pet Rescue requires that the Kitten/ Cat be spayed/neutered before adopting. However if for some reason this cannot be done I agree to have this Kitten/ Cat spayed/ neutered at my expense following the requirements of having a pre paid receipt from my veterinarian. This must be agreed upon between Yakima Valley Pet Rescue and the adopters. I will not allow this Cat to breed or be bred under any circumstances. Yakima Valley Pet Rescue reserves the right to an ongoing review of this adoption and to follow-up on any complaints or reports, including an examination of the Kitten /Cat and its living conditions, to protect welfare of the Kitten/Cat throughout its life. If the terms of this agreement are not satisfactorily upheld by the adopter(s), and/or any misrepresentations have been made in order to obtain this Kitten/ Cat, Yakima Valley Pet Rescue reserves the right to terminate this agreement and demand the surrender of the said Animal immediately. I understand that YVPR is a referral service and is not responsible for the accuracy of information received about the habits, temperament, or physical condition of the dogs/cats available for adoption. I understand that it is my responsibility to evaluate the dog/cat for myself before agreeing to adopt it. I am in full agreement with these terms of adoption. YVPR shall not be liable for, and is hereby relieved from, all liability for any damage, expenses, causes of action, fines, suits, demands, judgments or claims of any nature whatsoever arising from or by reason of any damage to property or injury to any persons caused in whole or in part by the dog/cat placed in my home. Be it understood if an animal is returned for any reason to Yakima Valley Pet Rescue, according to our agreement,(which you receive when adopting) the decision for a refund will be decided upon by the board of directors.
Yakima Valley Pet Rescue and Adoption Center reserves the right to refuse to adopt any pets to applicants we feel would not be in the best interest of the animal. We also reserve the right to refuse any adoption ,without justification, and not all applications or inquiries may receive a response.
I understand that Yakima Valley Pet Rescue is not responsible for the accuracy of information received about temperament or habits of puppies / dogs available for adoption. I understand completely that it is my responsibility to evaluate the dog for myself before agreeing to adopt it. Yakima Valley Pet Rescue is in no way liable or responsible for any damage, accident, or injury resulting from the placement of a dog into a household.
Adoptee's also need to pick up the dog (if your application has been approved) in a timely manner, as we need to free up our foster home space to take in more homeless pets is crucial.
